I began sewing in the late 1980’s and have been involved with these projects since then. It is a joy to get together with other ladies who enjoy doing sewing for the less fortunate.
The Sewing Bees are a group of hard working dedicated ladies who meet each Thursday at 9 a.m. to give their time and talent to makes items for missions.
Over the past several years we have made and sent items to Nursing Homes, Ronald McDonald House, Hospice Palliative Care, and the Cancer Center.
Along with pillowcase dresses for girls and shorts for boys in Nicaragua, we have made Binky Quilts for hospitalized children, quilts for orphanages in Moldavia, Peru, Belize, and the Scott County Police Department.
One of our latest projects is making Prayer Pillows.
The 1st Sunday in each month a special offering is given by the Adult Women’s Sunday School Class to support these mission projects.
